Student Support

Embedded Support. Individualized Care. Meaningful Growth.

Support Is Part of the Learning Experience

At Discovery Lane, student support is thoughtfully woven into the school experience. Our educators work collaboratively with students, families, and outside professionals to identify individual needs, remove barriers to learning, and provide meaningful support within an inclusive environment. We recognize that every child learns differently, and we are committed to helping each student feel known, capable, and empowered to thrive.

We believe that meaningful support begins with understanding each child’s strengths, interests, and learning profile. By combining high expectations with individualized strategies, we create learning experiences that foster confidence, independence, and academic growth. Whether a student benefits from targeted intervention, classroom accommodations, or collaboration with outside specialists, our goal is to provide the right support at the right time while nurturing a lifelong love of learning.

Frequently Asked Questions

We’re Here to Support Your Family

___________

We understand that choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions a family can make. Below are answers to some of the questions we hear most often about student support at Discovery Lane. If you don’t see your question, we’re always happy to connect and discuss your child’s needs.

Do you accept student with IEP's

Yes. Discovery Lane welcomes students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). During the admissions process, we work closely with families to understand each child’s strengths, learning needs, and the supports required to help them thrive within our educational program.

Does my child need an IEP to receive support?

No. Some students benefit from targeted academic intervention or classroom accommodations without having a formal IEP. Our educators continuously monitor student progress and provide support based on individual needs.

Do you collaborate with outside providers?

Absolutely. We value collaborative partnerships and regularly communicate with outside professionals, including speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, behavioral specialists, psychologists, counselors, tutors, and ABA providers, when appropriate and with parent consent.

Can services be provided during the school day?

Yes. When appropriate and coordinated with the school, outside providers may provide services during the school day. Scheduling is based on the student’s educational program and the availability of space to minimize disruption to classroom learning.

How do you determine the right level of support?

Every child learns differently. During the admissions process, we review educational records, meet with families, and complete an academic readiness assessment to better understand your child’s learning profile and support needs. This collaborative process helps us determine whether Discovery Lane is the right fit and identify the supports that will help your child thrive.

Can my child receive services from an outside therapist during the school day?

Yes. Discovery Lane welcomes collaboration with outside providers hired by families when services can be appropriately integrated into the school day. To ensure the safety and well-being of our students, all outside therapists must complete our approval process, submitting background check and adhering to school policies and procedures. Our team works closely with families and providers to coordinate services in a way that supports the student’s educational experience while minimizing disruption to classroom learning.

A Place to Explore. Learn. Discover.

The right school does more than educate. It cultivates curiosity, builds confidence, and inspires students to discover what they’re capable of becoming. At Discovery Lane, meaningful relationships and purposeful learning create an environment where every child can flourish.
